A friend suggested a camisole top but everything's got spaghetti straps and is covered in frou, frou lace and crap that only a flat chested 12 year old can wear, I am so screwed....

Sulis, do you have any camisoles you can put under a blazer? Just throw the blazer on for your interviews. Any office is probably going to be too chilly for a camisole anyway.

I do have rather pointy elbows. lol. The way my work station is set up doesn't help either. It's stupid. To type, I have to sit at an angle with my right arm resting on the desk and my left arm hangs over the desk and is supported by the arm of my chair (which is raised as high as it will go). Worse ergonomics ever.

Huh, I just had a thought... I love my lacy camis as underwear, but unless you can find the rare cami that fits right, wearing one like that might be a bit too much cleavage for an interview - they're definitely made for the small-busted among us... I've had some accidents/public service moments while wearing camis

I dont have any right now, but I'm trying to find something that doesn't look like total lingerie to wear under a blazer. I may have to dust off my credit card and go to the designer shops at Chadstone on Thursday but if I'm going to spend $$ on a top like that then it's going to be somwthing I'll get a lot of wear out of.

That's plan B as long as I can find one that isn't an ugly mess print wise. I might have to go with something pastel which I usually avoid but as I have a choice of either black pants & blazer or grey pants/blazer I could get away with a soft peach or that dusty pink (pink, UGH!) maybe even a soft silver or cream. Dunno. I have to find something though. At least I've found the prfect pair of non winter shoes that will still cover my foot tatts.

I have friends who have the same complaint. One recommended Sketchers. She had a freaking adorable pair of kind of hybrid ballet flats/Mary Janes that I actually couldn't find in a size 8 1/2.
My complaint is that anything lower than men's size 8 is a near-impossible find. Which was really interesting when I was trying to find suitable boots for foundry work

Most of it will be hidden under a blazer, tho - as long as the colors match, the print won't be nearly as in-your-face. They do it on What Not To Wear all the time. Just don't take the blazer off
Alot of the Boho stuff here is all-over lace. Maybe you could go for an eyelet pattern? That would be subtle under a blazer.

(The DJ played that song at my wedding (at my request!) and when that part came on, my bridesmaids put their hands over my head to indicate my short stature. The DJ laughed his ass off.)

Love that song
well ladies I managed to score on my shopping trip today even though I had to use my credit card (1st time in over 10 months!) as I don't want to drain my cash reserves, anyways this is what i found:
option 1: a blue silk lightweight knit top with silk chiffon cap sleeves and bodice detail:

detail close up:

on (my God I need to lose that spare tyre!)

This will look great under my grey blazer and tailored pants.
Option 2: white silk top with ruffle detail, I don't normally wear white but there were no other colours left and it was only $35:

on:

I bought a plain cotton/lycra cami to go under this as it's a bit see through, do I need any more motivation to lose that 5 kilos after seeing these pics, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
the shoes:
will cover my foot tatts completely while letting my feet breathe:

top view:

um, need to do something about that bad fake tan job and I need a pedicure too. All up I spent about $300 as I picked up some new seasons pants while in target, I needed some anyway and when I get the job (note my confidence) I'll need work pants anyway

Maybe it's because I haven't bought a lot of new tops lately, but I haven't seen this either. But now I'm nervous - with my bust, I need long shirts to compensate for my boobs sticking out and taking the shirt out there with it... if short is the new trend, I'm screwed

So it's not so much the clothes fault, but it's so annoying being between sizes right now. Everything is either a touch too baggy or too tight. I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can lose a few pounds of baby weight.

b) professional looking
and

JediPunkGirl, I hear ya. I had to find shoes that were comfortable enough to walk a mile in, covered my whole foot, and somehow still looked professional when I was at my old job. It wasn't easy.

Yeah, I'm sticking to small goals right now. And since I'm still breastfeeding I don't want to start a major diet or anything. I figure I'll target 5 pounds at a time.

I actually went for men's shoes when I worked in security and spent entire shifts standing or walking long distances on concrete while having to wear shoes that conformed to uniform standards. Dr. Scholls, black leather loafers (so you're good if you spill metal), with added Dr. Scholls inserts. They weren't pretty at all, but they did the job.
