Since I'm out the door and on my way home in a minute I don't wanna go back to the sites to find the links, but there are two very big stars coming back to the WWE soon. One is all but definite, the other is looking likely.
Reports are, and there's no confirmation or denial on either side, that Bret Hart has signed a short term talent contract witht he WWE. It's said to go from January to April 10, two weeks after WrestleMania. The name dropping on RAW was likely to foreshadow this.
The other, as has been expected for a while but still not confirmed, is Booker T. There were stories that talks with the WWE had stalled recently, but apparently he's now telling friends that he is indeed coming back and will be returning to the RAW brand.
So, thoughts?
Two big WWE returns

In what capacity would Bret be returning? Any word on that?
Like backstage, trainer, or on-screen in some way
Either way....it's pretty froggin' cool if it's true

^More than likely but, I would rather not see Bret in the ring again as there is no way he could come out of it looking good.
He'll host the Jan 4th RAW, maybe feud with Vince, hopefully be a mouthpiece for the Hart Dynasty and help them to get the tag titles.
Most importantly this surely leads to Owen being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year.

So IF Bret is a "mouthpiece" for the Hard Dynasty, does that mean they get traded to RAW, or do they stay on SD?

I wonder if part of the condition of him returning is how much interaction he has with Shawn. I can see him not wanting to be in the same locker room but that'll be rough with DX possibly being on all the shows now.

I'll call that the WWE, Shawn and Trips finally and completely bury the hatchet with Bret... in order to continue good relations with and also push the promising Hart Dynasty. Wrestlemania will have DX vs the Hart Dynasty and the Harts will win.

I don't think Bret or Vince have another match in them, I would rule that out. I like the idea of Bret helping the Hart Dynasty beat DX for the tag titles, that seems like the most logical and satisfying way to involve him.

Bret Hart interview!
I came away with lots of positive thoughts here. It's interesting top imagine a purist like Bret with a job in creative.
Quote
- WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart appeared on yesterday's edition of Wrestling Observer Radio on F4Wonline.com. Here are some of the highlights:
* Bret said he doesn't have faith in Eric Bischoff or Hulk Hogan when it comes to recreating the Monday Night Wars with TNA. He respects TNA as a company and hope it brings competition for the sport but doesn't think they're going to do anything major. Bret said Hogan has played himself out to the American audience and doesn't have anything to offer anymore.
* He feels he still has lots of ideas and different things he can contribute to wrestling. His ideal job in the business right now would be something similar to what John Laurinaitis does for WWE. He would want to be involved in planning matches and storylines.
* TNA has always been good to him as far as extending offers go.
* Bret says he is a big fan of Randy Orton's work these days but not impressed with the storylines he's been involved in. He also said he's impressed with Kofi Kingston and is a mark for Melina, calling her creative and very imaginative when it comes to doing her moves. He also feels everything Sheamus is doing right now is impressive and also is a big fan of Jack Swagger. Bret feels Swagger has good potential to be a top wrestler and character.
* He would loved to have wrestled Kurt Angle and David Hart Smith. He also would have loved to work as a heel against John Cena because he feels they could have told a good story together. He hinted that Cena's abilities in the ring are limited but he is still good.
* As far as all the news about his WWE return, Bret said he can't talk about the rumors but did say that he was talking with WWE and "we will see what happens."

I guess I'm the only one not excited about Bret being a "mouthpiece". He was a great worker but was easily one of the most boring talkers to every win a championship.
If can actually wrestle, though, I'm all for his return.

It's a shame that Bret still holds the screwjob against HBK, if there's one person in the wwe who could carry even a bad shaped Bret it's HBK. The two could have a watchable match easily.
Won't happen, but it I'd love to see it if it were to.

I don't think anyone should get their hopes up about Bret getting into the ring. Hes a 52 year old stroke victim who hasn't wrestled in nearly 10 years, and he has no reason to climb back into the ring, I don't think he or the WWE would risk it. His role must be as a manager or GM.

I forgot about his stroke he had when I typed that.
Still, I think as a mouthpeace to the hart dynasty or as a gh would be great.

Honestly, you're not. I mean, I'm interested, definitely, but I'm nowhere near as excited as I would have been had something like this happened circa 2002 or something.

Booker T on the mic is great.
Booker T in the ring is beyond boring. Not been interested in a match of his since his best of 5/7 (can't mind exact number) series with Benoit.

Not sure how I feel about Bret vs Vince, but maybe it'll depend on the build.
Quote
The short-term deal that Bret Hart has signed with WWE is a performer's contract so he will be an integral part of the storylines going into WrestleMania. It's still believed by many that he will be doing one match, most likely against Vince McMahon.
Bret is old-school and is trying to keep everything about his return quiet. Because of this, a lot of news might not get out about plans for him in WWE before his first appearance. It's still not confirmed that Bret will be hosting the January 4th RAW.
Bret is heavier than he has been in the past and is trying to get back into shape. He has a bad back injury that has made it hard to train.
Bret hasn't talked with Shawn Michaels or Triple H since Montreal so it will be interesting to see how everything plays out between them.
