Isn't anyone going to celebrate 10/10/10, 11/11/11, or 12/12/12?

One of my favorite pieces of trivia about these kinds of days was on 6/6/6, the Angels played the Devil Rays.

I am just as sure we will here by starting a thread as I am sure Primbud will say something in that thread that annoys me.

The military, out of necessity uses real time. There are 24 hours in a day; therefore the military uses what civilians call "military time", it's not military time...it's real time. But since only the military uses it (more and more civilians, e.g. law enforcement, etc. are beginning to use it) people call it "Military Time."

0001 Hours is one minute past midnight. 0100 Hours is one hour past midnight; or 1 o'clock in the morning, or 1 AM.

The 24 hours method is more accurate, easier to say, easier to remember, and doesn't cause confusion. Battlefield's are confusing enough without adding more complications to it.

I definitely see why military time is necessary for the military, but I don't like it because 12 is a high enough number for my non-mathy brain to comprehend. No need to complicate things.

My experience with military time was really difficult though. When I was in Zambia everyone used military time exclusively, so every time someone would ask me what time it was at my house, I would have to figure out what time it was, subtract seven hours, and then convert it to military time. It was too much math! Also, they wouldn't say the "hundred" after the number. So instead of 1600 they would say 16 hours. It was confusing.
Smile, be happy!

I can't really complain about the single digits, but I find it amusing. I got married on 07/07/07, and two classmates of mine got married on 08/08/08 and 09/09/09. We tried to talk my sister in law into getting married on 10/10/10. For some reason she wouldn't go for it. Killjoy.

edit: Just wanna say, we picked 07/07/07 as kind of a lark. Didn't put any significance behind it or anything.

Some crazy priest in Mexico hijacked an airline to tell the government that because it was 9-9-9 it is 6-6-6 upside down and an earthquake would happen soon. SO this guy was caught and I guess now he can do a prison ministry for a few years or more.

Ah yes, and underappreciated Arnie venture which I actually went to the theatre to see - and lo & behold wasn't disappointed, possibly, probably due to the company.

'Batman - The Animated Series' also told me I couldn't read in dreams - then someone with apparent knowledge tried to confirm it, but I've read in my dreams so I don't know what to believe.

BTW, 'End of Days' (1999) ranks @ # 303 on my all-time favourite movies list - oh the plug lives!

I never realized Iceland was that close to Greenland (why don't they just switch names?? Heck Reykjavik's got hot springs for goodness sake) - I knew it cut into the North Atlantic, but that capital looks like it's a stone's throw away from Iceland.
Wow, neighbours.

Well, maybe not a stone's throw - or by Elway.

iceland's greener than grenland, which is mostly ice. settlers just called it greenland to get more people to go over because scandinavia was getting a little overpopulated.

you can just see the corner of portugal there too. funny that it's at the same latitude as toronto, but look at the difference in climate.
