Well, I just found out a little while ago that Nate and I are expecting.
Despite the tones in the topic title I'm pretty excited (if not very sick and very tired) and thankfully my sweetie is just as stoked. He was actually more happy about it than I was when we first found out, lol. Anyway, I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow and the due date is December 7th. We're hoping for a girl. So I thought I'd let my lady friends here know why I've been so moody and quiet lately.

Congrats Jaycie!
got any names picked out yet?
For me to even be a size 14, I have to live a diet 24/7 365 days a year forever. And seriously I can’t be f##cked anymore. I’ve done the bulemia, the Weight Watchers, the diet shakes, every fad diet under the sun, and after 43 years of fighting who I am, I don’t give a fat rats clacker what anybody thinks of me anymore or what society thinks I should be.

We've only really talked about girl names at this point since Nate is pretty convinced it's going to be a girl. Nate really loves the name Jaedyn so we'll probably name the baby that. As for the middle name we're going to mix our family middle names. Since his mom's middle name is Jo and my mom's middle name is Lee we're going to name her "Jaedyn Jolee." For boys the only thing we've really joked about was naming him "Rusty" after the Venture Brother's character but I wouldn't go for it.

Man now I'm mad at myself for not keeping more in touch outside of Nightly.
Congrats you two!! If its a girl I think that name is adorable. Already partial to it already though since my nephew's name is Jayden.
Sure you'll come up with something equally cool for a boy just in case.

LOL, it's ok guys. I'm not on that much during the day save for when I'm at work. I've been really sick this week though so I've called out a lot. I have really terrible morning sickness, lasted until at 20 weeks with both my previous pregnancies. I'm going to talk to my boss about working remote pretty soon though. We have a lot of techs who do it so I may be able to work something out so I can keep working for a while.

Definitely go for remote if you can. Myself and all my co-workers have it set up for if we're contagious with something but really have a big deadline, or if we have to wait around for a repair person at home... or if their wives are complaining that they need to come home already.

Congrats! December 7 is my niece's birthday!
That sucks about the morning sickness though.
Do you think it will go away after a little while?

Yeah, my boss said today it's something they are considering once I'm off the regular support rounds. Right now I think we're too understaffed for me not to be around to help the hybrid noobs.

It should but I have a bad history with it. My last pregnancy it lasted till I was 20 weeks and my first one it lasted till I was 6 months along so who knows. I'm honestly just really tired of not keeping food down, lol.

As per the terms of my divorce, I have them for the summer and they live with their father's parents during the school year (it's complicated because my oldest has a learning disability). If I do end up giving up my job I'm going to probably try to renegotiate things.

Jaycie, that must be so tough to have your kids for such a short time. Do you get to see them more often than that, or is the distance great enough that it doesn't work out?

They live across the country from me.
So it's hard financially to have them here more than that. We're going to improve upon that situation soon hopefully.

LOL.
Oh man no and I've been totally moody on top of it. Poor Nate doesn't know how to help but he's being really supportive and constantly asking if there's something he can do. He even apologized last night (after three or four horrible last minute sprints to the bathroom) saying that he was sorry for "doing this to me."
Silly boy, I'm just as excited as he is. I just will be a lot happier when I get past this. I've entered a new phase of morning sickness suck where it doesn't matter if I eat first thing in the morning, I'll still get sick. Oh and particular smells really set it off. It's really hard being at the office. I hope they let me work remote soon.
On the bright side though they changed my schedule so I get to work with Nate half the week now instead of opposite shifts and my days off will seem REALLY long because of how they worked it. It makes things at least a little more tolerable, lol.

Man, that morning sickness sounds awful. Here's hoping it passes soon!
Great news on the shifts though. I'm sure it won't hurt to have Nate around to wait on you hand and foot more often.

I'm feeling a lot better this week so far. I have been eating much smaller meals and Nate and I started taking walks together. Being outside really seems to help. His mom was teasing him yesterday cause he was complaining that he was gaining weight while I was actually losing. She told him that he must be nesting or something.
I'm really excited about our new walking habit though. We have these very long nature paths that run along the sides of the Wabash through the middle of town. It almost felt like we were hiking we were gone so long. It felt awesome though and we discussed a lot of plans we have for the future. Anyway, yesterday we pretty much settled on the names we like for either girl or boy. I've already mentioned that we're going with Jaedyn for a girl but for a boy we're thinking Logan Thomas. It's kind of geeky but we really can't deny that Logan comes from Xmen since we both love Wolverine so much but at least Thomas is just a generational family name, lol.
I am starting to get the feeling though that I may be further along than we think I am. The symptoms I'm feeling seem a couple weeks off.

Logan is a nice enough homage to geekdom without setting the kid up for teasing. It sounds really nice with Thomas as a middle name.
