Out of curiosity - who else remembers this short-lived 80s TV series?
I got to thinking about it the other day and decided I'd try digging around online to find out more behind the scenes info - oh and clips.
Opening [regular]
I distinctly remember the scene in this clip with Johnny B on the offensive.
Save Adele, Save the World!
Oh - I've got one other reason for bringing up this bit of 80's. Remeber Tim Kring? Perhaps you've watched this popular show he created called Heroes - well Mr. Kring has a writing credit for the 9th episode of Misfits of Science ["Twin Engines" which first aired December 13, 1985]
Cue Twilight Zone intro...

I watched Misfits and loved it. It was right up there with Whiz Kids and Automan.

It looks VERY familiar. But I can't place any specific memory to it.

Same here! I literally cried when it wasn't on the following season. That and I had a huge crush for Courtney Cox.

Yes! This was my show as a kid. I didn't know about Tim Kring writing on episode. That's pretty cool. They have to get Courtney Cox on Heroes in a guest spot and while there at it Johnny B. too. I don't care where, just shoe horn them in somewhere. Sadly, the other two cast members died pretty young.

I think she got stuck in some place called Eternia - something about a Cosmic Key I think...
Oh - I just found out another interesting tidbit. Misfits of Science ran on NBC, who cancelled the show before it's last episode aired
Imagine that, NBC airing a show about a group of people with super abilities...

Looks like Courtney Cox got sucked into friends, then did a 1 episode series that flopped called "Dirt" and hasn't been heard from since......she's better to look at then to hear anyways.

Something I didn't realize until just recently is the fact that Dean Paul Martin was the son of Dean Martin. I never caught the connection. Even with the name.

Don't forget Manimal! That guy should guest star on Heroes, too...with the same ability.

That's interesting that he wrote the 9th episode, what with all the 9 references in Heroes. I loved Misfits of Science and vividly remember the characters, although none of the story lines.
Does anyone remembered when Brandon Tarticoff made a reference to it during a cameo on Night Court? It was a few years after MoS was cancelled and he said he was going home to watch it. Someone had to remind him that it wasn't on the air anymore.
And she did a whole season. Not just one episode.

Good news and bad news. The good news is the show is available on dvd in January. The bad news is that it looks like it's not available in Region 1. In fact I don't know what Region it's available in, but it's up on www.amazon.de
