Lost in Coruscant

I just want to die right now.

Really, these pictures of Mike Stackpole as Corran Horn are NOT flattering.
Timothy Zahn does make one hot Karrde though.

I like a little silver in older men.

I saw this on Wookieepedia. It's terrible. Everyone looks more overweight than I thought they'd be. And Corran Horn should be a lot younger and more in shape. But I think it was fun for the authors to play their characters.

This one makes more sense - when have Karrde, Mara, and Corran been together in a bar? That one looks like Mike just showed up or stepped onto the set.

But really, do a lot of authors create characters based on themselves? I've always associated that sort of thing with those God-awful Mary Sue fanfics I've seen.

I don't think either Zahn or Stackpole looks good as their respective characters. As for creating characters based on themselves, I never thought Karrde was based on Zahn or who Zahn wanted to be. On the other hand I always thought Stackpole wrote Corran Horn the way he did because he wanted to be like Corran Horn was in the books.

I always picture Zahn as Karrde now. But I don't like Shannon Baksa as Mara or Stackpole as Corran.

I cant really say thats how I picture Mara, but I cant really picture her as one consistent thing because they portray her as everything from a normal red head to a ridiculous lara croft wannabe (in the comics). I like this version I suppose, she has this smart ass look about her that fits her.

I felt the same way about Corran Horn. Stackpole writes him as short and slight with facial hair quite often.
