Yep, when the mugging occured I had caught it immediately that the dude had specifically plucked the key card out of the wallet. When he mentioned he was gonna get paid, that just validated that the terrorists had exploited an angle via the druggy sister to gain access to CTU.
What I loved best about the episode yesterday is that, while CTU has always had some level of comprise (i.e. a mole) CTU itself was never actually shut down. This time, CTU was hit and hit hard. That's good stuff.

this last episode was good. Did anyone else see foreshadowing by killing off Edgar? Though it might have been a good move i am still very dissapointed. He was one of my favorite characters and now i know that I'll never see him in any of the other seasons.

Weren't they bombed in season 2?

Well the bombing didn't result in killing off 40% of their staff. As far as i recall on a few people were killed.
Edgar being killed is a shock, cause he haven't seen much of him this season. Though, next to CLoe he's CTU best programmer, what 's going to happen to them now.??!!

Just saw episodes 11 and 12 last night - man the writers are b@stards!!! Was a big shock to see Edgar go - I'd kinda forgotten about him and assumed he'd got out of the building when Chloe called him to warn him.
Thought it was funny how when the other lady was dying outside the room, Jack said "Don't worry, there's nothing we can do". Then everyone freaks out when they see Edgar outside - If you ain't a regular, Jack don't give a sh!t!!

And hurray for Leland Palmer!

That makes three of my all time six favorite 24 characters dead this season. Mason died a long time ago so only Jack and Chloe are left now. It's taking it's toll on me too. The rest of the season is going to be less interesting without Tony. I know that the 24 thing to do is kill off people the audience likes. I get that. It makes for an edgy show. You really don't know what is going to happen next. But at some point you cannibalize yourself so much that most of the reason people were watching is gone. >:-#

I, I really can't express in any words how much Tony Almeida meant to the show and how vital he was........ 'She's gone Jack.'.... All in all, a heartbreaking episode: Lynn McGill finally fessing up and regaining redemption: Jack's own daughter wanting nothing to do with him. ( She also seems to find trouble everywhere she goes) I still think there is something up with Barry, especially when Jack wanted Kim to go to medical to get a checkup- is she hiding something? Is he? The Vice President essentially stealing the Presidency and Martha fighting back. The introduction of Colette. What's her target... ' faculity this secure?' My guess is the dude from the preview " Desmond from Lost" is undercover.

How did Robocop just happen to waltz out of CTU after he was practically dead from injections?
My guess is that the VP and Robocop are in on it with the terrorists.
The scene where "the head terrorist calls a hot chick on the phone whiling she's banging some dude who has no idea she's actually a terrorist" haven't they done that a couple times before?? Its getting kinda old.

This describes about half this season so far. The "wronged person wants to kill dude who has crucial information" gambit has actually been done twice so far, once the crucial info dude died and once he didn't (last night). Then we have the terrorists blackmailing the President (who gives in) which also happened in Season 3. I gave more examples of this farther back in the thread. This has been a really retread season for 24. >:-#

Holy crap! I never thought they would kill Tony that way. That's a great big Jack Bauer Dammit! I think Kim is about to become Robocop's hostage. And is this really the end of CTU? According to the Homeland Security director chick CTU is a dead entity. I definately agree about the VP being in on it. Did you see him watching Logan when they were talking about declaring martial law? He looked like Palpatine in Star Wars turning somebody to the dark side.

I think Kim is in on it somehow. Did anyone else notice the chick with long blonde hair in the trailer for next weeks episode. Jack comes out and says, "Get your hands up." And it looks like the back of Kim. I don't know though. I think what Robocop was trying to hide from Jack was that Kim was involved.

That's possible. She did work at CTU. Maybe she blamed CTU for Jack's "death" and saw it as revenge for that.

Both of you raise some brilliant points. It could be why she wanted to get the hell out of there so much. >:-# Especially since there was so much talk of Robocop (I love how everyone just calls him that and doesn't even bother to remember his lame character name LOL) visting Kim while Jack was dead.
But the teasers lie like dogs. He was probably pointing his gun at RoboCop who had just taken her hostage.

19 Mar 2006, 07:49 PM
Yea, I can see them killing her, and everyone shy of Jack prety well. I don't know, at the start of the season, I was happy to see some deaths finally hitting the scene. It was a good step to take for the show, they needed to do something more drastic like this, that will have repricusions.
Now, after seeing Lynn, and Tony get axed as well, I'm starting to think, and hope they don't get carried away. Deaths are good, but only when they are needed and just deaths, not just killing characters for shock factor anymore.

Huh, I was expecting some deaths seeing as the preview last week said the body count was rising. Wayne Palmer isn't dead (at least, not yet) as we see him in the preview for NEXT week's episode still alive...
Interesting though that Audrey is a suspected traitor. I doubt, however, that she will be actually guilty. Jack seems to go on quite the tangent when interigating her though, which should be quite the scene to watch.
A pretty good episode overall, definitely looking forward to next week's.
ShadowDog
20 Mar 2006, 08:37 PM
I enjoyed this one. I'm starting to think though that it would be easier to figure out who ISN'T involved in this conspiracy in some way. It's now looking like the Vice President is involved (since only he and some flunkies knew Wayne was coming in). Walt Cummings was involved. Jack's old boss, possibly Audrey. They're building up quite a list and it still wouldn't surprise me if Kim made it on the list.
I loved the stuff with Desmond from Lost. I've been whining all season about how they just keep ripping off old beats from previous seasons but this was something fresh. Everything in their conversations and encounters was new and interesting. Especially the stuff about two men who are both very committed to their own countries and what limits they would go to in the service of their respective homelands. Really good stuff.
Anything involving President Logan was total snoozeville though. Every season we reach the point where somebody wants to impose martial law and someone else thinks it's a bad idea. ZzZzZzzzz.

Theo Stoller and Collete Stenger rock. When she was handcuffed. Hot. I especially loved the convesation between Jack and Theo about 'undercover work.' Interesting to see these paralells, Jack/Nina and Theo/Collette. Could Mysterious Max also be one of Collete's clients? Also, one of the cells, Theo was investigating? I hope, this isn't the last we see of Mr. Stoller. That was priceless when Chloe spilled that snake Miles coffee all over him. Hilarious. I'm really loving Bierko's character also, the fact that he's almost so low key.... And the professional hit on Wayne, priceless. I think it's too obvious that Audrey was set up, but who knows this is 24. Maybe she bought into the whole 'patriot thing.' Probably slept with Walt Cummings ( suicide or not?)
'I asked your name, not who you work for.' Chloe
Don't worry, Mr. President. I am in control of the situation. Hal
'I'll pay for the dry cleaning.' Chloe
'She's uh, cautious by habit.' Theo Stoller
'There is no question we're doing what has to be done for our countries, but sometimes its harder than others.' Theo Stoller
'I'm not for sale.' Jack
'Everyone's for sale.' Collete Stenger
'She's an Independent Contractor. In her line of work sometimes what you don't know will save your life.' Jack
'She sold me the information. Mr. Bauer. Apparently, she had a price. Collette Stenger

Well supposedly the producers of 24 have said the show is not going to be set in LA next season. Jack is going to be working in Europe with Interpol. So some people are specualting that Theo is going to be working with Jack in the future and be sort of like the new "Tony".

A few points:
Audry ****ing Raines. Didn't see that coming at all.
Theo will definetly be back this season. He got a little window during the last seconds. If you get a little window, you're in the next episode.
Twice, in a matter of minutes, this conversation took place:
(Someone wants to be left alone with someone)
Curtis: Jack?
Jack: It's all right.
...and I know they've said that several times before. We need to start collecting 24 catch phrases.
Chloe is my all time favorite character. Did you see the look she gave that Homeland Defense guy after she downloaded the WET list? priceless. I love how she will do anything, no matter how illegal (hacking into the NSA database for example) as long as it's for Jack.
Chloe, Why did you steal the WET list?
Jack needed it.
Chloe why didn't you tell us you were in communication with Jack Bauer this whole time?
Jack didn't want me to.
Chloe why are you naked and riding on a donkey?
Jack wanted me to.

Okay. Audrey was set up...
By Kim...
Or at least that's what I'm going to call.
I think that was one of the things Robocop was hiding so deeply when he said he couldn't tell Jack. And Kim would have all of Audrey's information, or be able to get the information. She also has motive, because Audrey is the woman trying to take her mom's place, and she ma be pissed about that.
I don't know why I have it out for Kim so much.

I think this is an excellent idea, I've actually gotten pretty sick of LA as the constant backdrop, seeing how you'd think terrorists would grow tired of continually trying to attack the same place, you'd think one of them would try to go after NY or DC (though I'm sure we are to believe that CTU NY or DC are thwarting these attacks)...

What oh what could Wayne Palmer know?!?! It can be about the Nerve gas that's alreaDy out in the open. It probably has something to do with Logan's adminstration. It seems obvious that the VP is up to something; it could however, be a red-herring. 24 wrtiters have done that in the past.

Audrey-- not sure if she's been set up or not. On this week's episode alone, I'd think he was guilty. her dad is hardcore enough to be part of this rogue faction. But the preview of Jack interrogating her-- she couldn't watch Jack interrogate her hubby last season, so no way she could take it herself. She's probably been set up.
